John Cavendish – Treating Therapist / Tutor
1.1 The Tutor provides one-to-one educational support tailored to the Student’s needs.
1.2 Sessions may include study skills development, coaching, learning strategies, subject support, IT upskilling, and related guidance.
1.3 The Tutor is not a medical professional and does not provide medical treatment, diagnosis, or counselling.
2.1 Fees are charged at a minimum of £60 per hour unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2.2 Sessions will be invoiced monthly (or at another agreed interval).
2.3 Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date.
2.4 Late payments may result in suspension of further sessions and may incur interest at 7% above the Bank of England base rate.
3.1 A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session.
3.2 Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full.
3.3 If the Tutor cancels a session, no fee will be charged and an alternative will be offered where possible.
4.1 All personal information shared during tuition will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with UK Data Protection law.
4.2 Records may be kept securely for planning and safeguarding purposes.
4.3 The Tutor may only disclose information where required by law or safeguarding obligations (see section 5).
5.1 The safety and wellbeing of the Student is paramount.
5.2 If the Tutor has reason to believe that the Student or another individual is at risk of harm, relevant concerns may be reported to appropriate safeguarding services.
5.3 Parents/Guardians remain responsible for the supervision and wellbeing of minors outside the session itself.
6.1 All teaching and learning resources created by the Tutor remain the intellectual property of the Tutor.
6.2 Materials may be used by the Student for personal study only and may not be copied, distributed, or shared without prior written consent.
7.1 The Tutor will deliver sessions with reasonable skill, care, and professionalism.
7.2 The Tutor does not guarantee specific outcomes (e.g. exam results or therapeutic results). Progress depends on individual circumstances and engagement.
7.3 The Tutor is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage suffered during or as a result of tuition, except where caused by proven negligence.
8.1 Either party may terminate tuition by giving one week’s written notice.
8.2 Any outstanding fees must be paid in full before termination takes effect.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
